School Strategy

Stern’s essay questions are unlike any other school. They can be divided into three broad categories: motivational, behavioral, and personal. Besides the straightforward short career goals question, you’ll be asked to write the behavioral “Change: ______ it” essay and the personal “Pick Six” visual essay. They reflect Stern’s EQ (emotional quotient) led culture, and give applicants the opportunity to represent themselves holistically.

Stern goes the extra mile to adapt its admissions process to its school values by including an EQ-based question in the recommendation letter form. Again, they want to get to know you beyond your transcripts and professional achievements.
